This simple DIY scalp scrub stimulates hair growth, removes any dandruff or dry flakes, moisturizes the scalp and provides your hair and skin with many essential minerals and nutrients.

Why do scalp scrubs at all?

You probably take good care of your hair. You wash it, moisturize it, condition it, protect it from the heat… It’s all wonderful, but it is like spending a lot of time in your garden caring for leaves and flowers without ever touching the soil. In our case, the “soil” is your scalp, where your hair roots get their energy and start their life. Exfoliating the scalp will not only cleanse and tone your skin, but can also support the growth of new hairs. And for those who suffer from dandruff, a regular scalp exfoliation can be a real saviour.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is know to be used in skin care for centuries. Rich in vitamins A, E and antioxidants, it can remove the buildup in your scalp that prevents the formation of new hair follicles. It also moisturizes the hair from roots to the ends.

Lemon Juice

Lemons are rich in vitamin C that helps to build collagen, which is highly important for hair growth. Also, lemon’s acidity helps balance the pH of your scalp. And let’s not forget about lemon’s anti-fungal properties and the ability to control the oil production in the scalp.

Sea Salt

MARPHYL Natural Sea Salt
Do you remember how great your skin feels after swimming in sea or ocean water? This is because salt water contains many essential nutrients and minerals that are beneficial to our bodies. And what is the easiest way of providing your skin and hair with all this goodness? It’s sea salt!
Sea salt is naturally present in the ocean. Beyond diminishing dandruff flakes, it will also promote blood circulation of your scalp and will soak up the excess moisture.
Unlike many other sea salts, MARPHYL Natural Sea Salt is collected after our wild multi-species marine phytoplankton has been harvested from the ocean water. It has an abundance of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, copper, zinc and sodium among many other minerals and nutrients.
